Period of Significance: 1921-1942
The F.Q. Story neighborhood consists of 602 homes that were constructed from the late 1920s through the late 1940s. A variety of architectural styles, including Spanish Colonial Revival, English Tudor, Craftsman bungalows as well as transitional ranch are represented within the neighborhood.
Significant for the role in community development in Phoenix in the early decades of the twentieth century, the F.Q. Story Historic District reflects, in the main, its 1920s middle class origin (a neighborhood touted to be "something for everyone") and its subsequent development up to the economic beginning of World War II. Platted in six sections over a seven-year period, the residential section still has the look and feel of a cohesive neighborhood.
